Entry #5: Commercials

What is the point of this video? This video is trying to show that there are many distractions when you are driving. One of those distractions can be kids. for those of you who have kids you know they can get loud when they are in the car. I don't have kids but I remember when I was younger I would annoy my parents while they were driving. I would ask questions and talk a lot. Me and my brothers would fight in the back constantly. Sometime when I am driving with other people they can also be annoying or distracting.

Its trying to make a point that driving isn't always easy. As like in the other videos there are other things that can keep us from being safe. There are also people who cause harm to us because they aren't careful.

It is trying to get people to think about their safety and to save money. Its targeting anyone who has a car and whoever has a family. It is showing them them the hardships that come with owning a car and having a family. It warns that accidents can happen to anyone.

It shows that as a society we have to choose whats best and reasonable. They offer both. You wont have to be worried that you wont have help when you get in an accident. They will help.

This video is trying to persuade the viewer to buy the insurance. If we buy it we will be protected for a low cost. We wont have to fear having to pay out of pocket if we were to get into an accident. With Allstate they will be covered and protected. They wont have to worry.

  1. I definitely agree that they are trying to show that kids and passengers can be a big distraction while driving. I feel that these advertisements are trying to bring light to the hazards of driving a vehicle. They are also attempting to convince drivers to go through the All State Insurance company, because they have the best coverage for the lowest price.

  2. Good start. Push yourself to pull out concrete evidence from the ad to analyze: quotes, the setting, the larger context of the issue at hand (texting and driving), and really dig deep into your analysis.
